Tacky wax comes in soft solid form like a candle. I melt it to liquid form in a metal container over a stove. Apply it with a paint brush over the mold. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I designed the "ALICE" pattern myself. As for the mold, it's a 16" Dragonfly by Odyssey mold. If you watched the video again; on the 48-49 second mark, you'll see the dragonfly pattern thru the Alice mylar pattern. Hope that helps. Good luck.

I stamp my name on a brass metal strip and soldered in the inner rim of the lower lamp shade. (Like the Tiffany Studios lamps) I think there's a pic of that in one of the lamp videos, cant recall which one.

Yes, It's an Odyssey. You get the mold with the pattern already 'grooved' to the FIBERGLASS (not plastic) mold. After completing all the glass pieces- copperfoiling. Thank you for watching.

I get mime from my local stained glass supply store, they have an online presence too at sgw.net . "Odyssey" brand is a complete mold, (not sections) made of fiberglass and can be reused many times. Yes, they're expensive. You can get lucky sometimes at eBay. Good luck.

As a stained glass artist of 30+ years, my specialty being Tiffany Reproduction lamps, Odyssey is the true repro lamp molds. Unfortunately, Worden is no longer in business...they were my affordable go-to years ago. Yes, Odyssey is expensive.

Hi. You're not wrong, foil adds to the size of the pieces. Foil is next to nothing in thickness when properly burnished. And if it gets too tight, you can always grind a piece or two to make everything fit. Thank you for subscribing. Stick to SG, its a very rewarding hobby.

Sticky wax or tacky wax, you can get them at any stained glass supply store.

​@@neloleonI've made hundreds of lamps..tacky wax is a problem compared to children's play dough. Yes, it works great.

@@sterling1386 I've never tried play dough, I guess because I never had an issue is tacky wax, thus no reason to experiment on other things. Always works great for me.

Hi. Yes, I cut my pattern midline, but I cut on the inner side of the line on my glass, gives you the same result. Regarding the light table, I normally do what you do, but I feel like the design is simple enough and with my light table that takes so much space, it's not necessary to take it out. A small glass with tacky wax is all I need to see how the glasses look under the light. When I have all the pieces, I'll have a final look on the light table before foiling. Glass is not all Reproduction.

How long did it take to complete this lamp?

@@theresevarney4715 It's not done. I only work on it whenever I feel like it on my spare time. If I want to, I can probably finish a shade in a about a month.
